Linz Open Foto Exhibition 2027 - Portrait

Who can participate?

Participation is open to all photographers worldwide aged 16 and older. The prerequisite is that you are the sole author of the submitted works.

What is the theme?

The focus is entirely on portrait photography. We are looking for expressive shots that capture the personality, emotions, or story of the depicted individuals. Whether classically staged in the studio, flashed on location, or as an unposed available-light portrait – all facets of people photography are welcome. The human subject must be the focal point of the image.

What format is required?

The submitted images must be suitable for an exhibition print in a 60x40 cm format, which will be organized by us. Therefore, your files must strictly be in a 2:3 aspect ratio (landscape or portrait) and have a sufficiently high resolution for high-quality printing.

What can be submitted?

Between one and three photographs can be uploaded per entry, which will be evaluated individually by the jury. Those who wish to show a larger selection of their portfolio may submit multiple entries.

What is there to win?

In addition to international visibility, the following awards will be given:

After the public vernissage, the 150 finalist images will be presented for 30 days as part of an exclusive portrait exhibition in Linz and will additionally be published on www.fotografische.at. An accompanying booklet featuring the selected images will also be published.

What are the submission fees?

The fees are tiered:

1 photograph: €10 - 2 photographs: €15 - 3 photographs: €20
